This is the ratchet assembly that is used with the cane handle. The assembly has the tube welded in the bracket and the spring that will ratchet on the handle.
On CJ models it is bolted on the brace up under the dash and on the other models it is bolted to the emergency brake bracket on the left side of the vehicle.
